How to Activate Cruise Control on a 3rd Gen Mazda 3 Using FORScan

· · · Comments

The Cruise Control system allows your vehicle to automatically maintain a certain speed when activated. If you don't have this function enabled on your Mazda 3, you can activate it using FORScan.

A video guide created by The Guy in Blue Youtube channel shows the steps on how to enable Cruise Control on his 3rd Generation Mazda 3 with FORScan. You can check out the video below:

The Cruise Control function will automatically maintain any speed that you set  on your Mazda 3 as soon it reached a speed of around 19 mph (30 km/h). Cruise Control is turned on by a switch usually found on the steering wheel control buttons of a Mazda 3.  If turned on, the Cruise Control system will auto cancel when the vehicle speed goes below 12 mph (20 km/h), such as driving on a steep road.

You won't be able to use the cruise control speed setting when the driver's seat belt is not fastened, when the shift lever is in neutral or P/N position, when parking brake is applied or brake pedal is depressed, and when any of the doors of the vehicle is opened.

When not needed, be sure to turn off the Cruise Control system as this could potentially result to loss of vehicle control. Thus, it is not advisable to use Cruise Control on steep inclines, hilly terrain, slippery or winding roads, and on heavy or unsteady traffic.

To apply configurations on your Mazda vehicle using FORScan, you will need a reliable OBD2 adapter. These are our featured OBD2 adapters that work flawlessly with FORScan.

Note: For FORScan coding modifications, we recommend using the OBD2 USB adapter for it provides a more stable connection.
