How to Code the Auto Start/Stop Function in your BMW with E-sys

· · · Comments

Most BMW vehicles with Auto Start/Stop functionality have the system enabled by default. If you wish to configure it for your BMW F-Series model, you can do it using the E-sys software.

A video created by BimmerCodeTutorials shows a comprehensive guide on how to disable the Auto Start/Stop system on an F-Series car. Check it out in the video below.

The Auto Start/Stop system has been present in most BMW vehicles since 2008. The Auto Start/Stop function automatically shuts off and restart the engine to reduce the time that it is idle. This system designed to reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of your vehicle. This function is particularly useful during traffic jams wherein extended periods of idling are expected.

If you are not a fan of the Auto Start/Stop function during rush hours or traffic jams, you can manually turn it off with a button in your dashboard. However, the system will switch back on by default after you turn off your vehicle. To permanently disable the Auto Start/Stop function, you will need to code it using a BMW software like E-sys.
