How to set Parking Lights, Fogs, Front Turn Lamps, High Beams, and Dedicated Lights (LED Light Bars/Strips) as DRLs with FORScan

· · · Comments

Car owners often change their wirings when setting LED Light Bars/Strips as Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs). There is an alternative way to do it using FORScan, wherein you can set everything within seconds. Here are the steps on how to set it up using FORSCan:

Step 1

Allow All DRL Options:
726-45-01: xxxx 7Fxx xxxx

Step 2

Enabled DRL Selection:
726-50-01: XXxx

Change XX to:

01 = Disabled / Parking Lights Only (See change below)
02 = Low Beams
04 = Front Fog Lamps
08 = Front Turn Lamps
10 = Dedicated DRL Lights (LED Light Bars/Strips) - Enables BCM DRL Outputs - C2280F (F-150) Pins 36 (Right) and 40 (Left)
20 = High Beams
40 = Low Beams and Dedicated DRL Lights

Optional Steps

Enable DRL Parking Lights:
Can be combined with other DRL options above
726-26-02: x1xx xxxx xxxx

Disable DRL Switchback w/Turn Signal:
726-26-02: xxx0 xxxx xxxx

Notes

Works for Ford F150

You can turn on/off these options from the Instrument Cluster DRL Control.

Enable the IPC DRL Control if it is missing.

To test if the changes you made work, make sure that the vehicle is turned on as DRLs are only active when the vehicle is on. The headlight switch should be in automatic headlights position while the transmission should be in Drive. It is not necessary that the engine is running for as long as the E-brake can be engaged.

In order to apply these changes using FORScan, you will need a reliable OBD2 adapter. These are our featured OBD2 adapters that work flawlessly with FORScan.

Note: For FORScan coding modifications, we recommend using the OBD2 USB adapter for it provides a more stable connection.
