Add Hill Descent Control on your Ford Truck Using FORScan

· · · Comments

The Hill Descent Control is a system that maintains the speed of your vehicle between 2 and 12 mph as it goes downhill. The system works by adjusting the brake pressure of your vehicle to help you gain slippage control and maintain a certain speed while going down a steep slope. This is a handy and useful safety feature to have when traveling in hilly locations.

If your Ford truck does not have the Hill Descent Control System, you can install a Hill Descent/Traction control switch and enable it using FORScan. Below is the process on how to do it.

Step 1. Connect FORScan to your vehicle and access the ABS "As-Built" Module.

Step 2. Apply the following changes:

760-01-01 xxxx xxxx 3xCx Hill Descent Control enabled
760-01-01 xxxx xxxx 2xBx Hill Descent Control disabled

To enable the Hill Descent Control System using FORScan, you will need a reliable OBD2 device. These are our featured OBD2 devices that work flawlessly with FORScan.

Note: For FORScan coding modifications, we recommend using the OBD2 USB adapter for it provides a more stable connection.
