How to Do Transmission Adaptation Reset on your BMW with INPA

· · · Comments

The best way to do a Transmission Adaptation reset on your BMW vehicle is to apply the configurations using a compatible software and a cable. It is highly recommended that you use the INPA software for this process.

A video created by the Youtube channel Auto Garage Projects shows how to do a Transmission Adaptation reset on a BMW E60 using INPA. Check it out on the video below.

Transmission Adaptation is a function in a number of BMW vehicles that allows learning the timing and pressure values of the transmission in order to adapt or adjust to the driving style of the driver. The function was designed to improve the shift feel and comfort of the driver and allow the transmission to last longer, enable longer use of transmission fluid, and reduce maintenance frequency and cost.

Transmission Adaptation reset is needed when drivers experience rough downshift, hard gear changes, early downshifting, and other related transmission issues. If you are satisfied with your current transmission settings, there’s no need to do the reset. Make sure that you change the fluid of your transmission before performing the reset.
