How to Get the Free and Paid FORScan Extended License
The FORScan extended license was introduced to limit access to critical functions in your vehicle. These functions are the potentially dangerous functionalities of you vehicle that can cause some serious issues if changes are incorrently applied.
An example of this critical function is the PATS programming feature, which should be put under limited access to prevent anyone from accessing and programming new keys of your vehicle.
The following is the list of functions that require the FORScan Extended License:
Service -> PATS Programming
Service -> TCM Adaptive Learning for vehicles with Powershift transmission 6DCT250 (DPS6)
Configuration and Programming -> All functions
The rest of the functions not included in the list don’t require the FORScan Extended License.
There are two types of FORScan Extended License - the Free Trial version and the Paid version. The free FORScan Extended License is a trial version that allows users to access the full functionalities of the FORScan software for up to two months. The paid FORScan Extended License version on the other hand, requires a subscription fee that allows users unlimited access to FORScan functionalities with 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, and lifelong subscription plans.
